Why You Forget Every Word the Second the Conversation Moves On | 35-Minute English Podcast (B2-C1)

Claire failed her driving test three times, always at the same five-exit roundabout in Coventry, and she could already drive an hour to her mother's house without a single problem. On the third attempt she stalled the engine with six cars waiting behind her, and she spent the next eight months deciding she was simply a nervous person who should not be driving. Then a third instructor called Ray listened to her list what she was doing at that junction, counted seven separate checks arriving in a two second window, and told her she was not a bad driver, she was a busy one. He made her drive for a week without touching the indicator at all, breaking a rule on purpose, and she passed on the fourth attempt without noticing the roundabout. This episode moves that sentence into English: why the freeze mid-conversation is a bandwidth problem rather than a knowledge problem, why you never freeze on what you never learned, and why more study makes it worse. Four families, fifteen short lines, all of them said out loud while the sentence is still going wrong. THE 15 LINES IN THIS EPISODE - "That tense will have to do." - "The article can be wrong." - "Wrong preposition, keep going." - "I'm not checking that now." - "Idea first, grammar after." - ...and 10 more, all said out loud in the episode. Every one is said slowly, repeated more than once, and then used in a real situation, so you can say it out loud with us instead of only recognizing it. The Fluency Plateau is for people who already understand English but freeze when it is time to speak. Each episode takes one exact moment where you get stuck and hands you the lines that get you past it. SPEAKING CHALLENGE Which rule fires loudest in your mouth, and who taught it to you? Say your answer out loud before you write it. #EnglishPodcast #EnglishConversation #SpeakEnglish #EnglishFluency
