He experiences a devastating loss when his beloved grandfather passes away. Consumed by intense grief, sorrow, and confusion, Chris feels completely broken and as if he cannot go on. He begins to question why bad things happen to good people and stands on the verge of giving up on doing what is right.To show him a profound example of perseverance through suffering, Superbook activates and teleports Chris, Joy, and Gizmo back to a time when a righteous man named Job is intensely tested by Satan. The children watch as Job—who has always lived an upright and faithful life—loses everything he owns. In a succession of terrible events, his vast wealth, his livestock, his home, and tragically, all of his children are stripped away. Soon after, his own physical health is afflicted with painful sores.Despite being urged by his grieving wife to abandon his faith and face harsh criticism from friends who insist he must have done something wrong, Job refuses to curse God. Though he deeply questions his suffering, he maintains his trust, proclaiming that his Redeemer lives. Eventually, God speaks out of a whirlwind, reminding Job of His infinite wisdom and control over the universe. Job humbles himself, and his faith is rewarded when God completely restores his life, blessing him with twice as much as he had before. Witnessing Job's unshakable endurance gives Chris a new perspective on grief and pain. He returns to the present with the inner strength to process his grandfather's passing and trust God through his darkest days.
