The king issues a terrifying warning: anyone who refuses will be thrown alive into a blazing, fiery furnace. While the crowds around them kneel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refuse to bow, declaring that only the true God deserves worship. Furious at their defiance, the king orders the furnace to be heated seven times hotter than normal and has them thrown into the raging flames. To the shock of the king and his guards, they see four men walking around completely unharmed in the middle of the fire—and the fourth looks like a divine being. When the three men step out of the furnace, not a single hair is singed, and their clothes do not even smell like smoke.
