Asteroid 44 Nysa was photographed with a shape unlike anything seen in the belt. The new images came from the SPHERE instrument on ESO's Very Large Telescope in Chile, combined with SHARK-VIS on the Large Binocular Telescope. The structure they revealed does not match any asteroid observed so far.
