I Played Call of Duty 2003 Again After 23 Years… Does It Still Hold Up in 2026?

I went back to where it ALL started — **Call of Duty (2003)** — and played the entire campaign again, 23 years after its original release. But this isn't just another retro game review. I was probably around **12 years old** when I first saw Call of Duty running on my cousin's PC. I still remember watching him play the **Eder Dam mission**, followed by that crazy **truck escape and Eder Dam Airfield** sequence. At the time, I couldn't believe a video game could look and feel like that. More than two decades later, I've finally returned to the original Call of Duty and completed the entire game myself. So... does Call of Duty 2003 actually still hold up in 2026, or are we remembering it through nostalgia? In this review, I'm talking about the campaign, gunplay, graphics, sound design, AI, difficulty, American, British and Soviet campaigns, the things Call of Duty did incredibly well — and the things that definitely haven't aged so gracefully. And yes... I also kept some of the footage I originally edited out of my walkthrough. Mostly because I died.
