BREAKING: Ship Carrying 15,000 Liters of Diesel Sinks in Zambales – All Rescued

A tugboat sank off Botolan, Zambales on August 24 while being towed during an emergency salvage operation. The MTUG SL Sual 1 listed heavily in rough seas, then went under in about 24 meters of water. All 10 workers onboard jumped into the sea and were safely rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard. No injuries reported. The vessel was carrying approximately 15,000 liters of diesel. Authorities say the fuel tank remained intact so far, but the Coast Guard is monitoring the area closely for any possible oil spill and has response equipment on standby.
