But Brianna became trapped inside The Inanna Project, the deepest and most corrupted level of Hyper-Switzerland. Inspired by the ancient Sumerian myth of Inanna's descent into the underworld, this digital realm is ruled by corrupted cyber-deities and fragmented versions of Brianna's own identity. Meanwhile, on another level of the seemingly perfect world, her sister Katy Keller works as an independent reporter for Pirate Television, an underground media network operating within Hyper-Switzerland. She is investigating the mysterious pirate Captain Cortés and a growing series of impossible disturbances: robots, aliens, glitches and ruptures appearing throughout the perfect world. Katie soon discovers that Cortés is not simply a pirate. She is the Virus of Hyper-Reality—a digital entity seeking to corrupt Hyper-Switzerland from within, overthrow its artificial perfection and transform it into a techno-feudalist dictatorship. The deeper corruption spreads, the more the boundaries between the different levels of Hyper-Switzerland begin to collapse. And somewhere beneath it all, inside the Inanna Project, Brianna is still fighting her way back. Two sisters. One perfect world. A corruption spreading from its deepest level.
