The 1995 American science fiction horror film Village of the Damned, written by David Himmelstein and directed by John Carpenter, stars Michael Paré, Christopher Reeve, Kirstie Alley, and Linda Kozlowski. John Wyndham's 1957 book The Midwich Cuckoos served as its inspiration. The original film and book are both set in England, but the 1995 adaptation takes place in Northern California.
