1st Writing a letter to His Excellency the Leader (Sub EN)

Since the major floods in the Kok, Sai, Ruak, and Mekong river basins in September 2024, they have caused damage and left behind turbid, muddy sediment. Even after the water receded to the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, the rivers remained muddy and reddish. This prompted Mekong Schools and youth to increase monthly water quality monitoring, especially for arsenic, through an activity called "#ArsenicDetectives." Until December 15, 2025, they organized training on heavy metal contamination in our rivers and the youth jointly wrote letters to the leaders of the United Nations, China, the United States, and Australia, expressing their concern for our rivers to the world. These are the first five letters from Mekong youth. นับแต่น้ำท่วมใหญ่ในลุ่มน้ำกก สาย รวก และโขง ในเดือน ก.ย. 2567 ได้สร้างความเสียหายและทิ้งโคลนตะกอนขุ่นข้น แม้นน้ำแห้งลงแล้วมาสู่ปลายปี 2567 และต้นปี 2568 แม่น้ำก็ยังขุ่นแดง ทำให้โฮงเฮียนแม่น้ำของและเยาวชนลุ่มน้ำโขงได้เพิ่มการตรวจวัดคุณภาพน้ำโดยเฉพาะสารหนูเป็นรายเดือนในกิจรรมที่ชื่อ "#นักสืบสารหนู" มาจนถึงวันที่ 15 ธ.ค. 2568 จึงจัดอบรมให้ความรู้ในเรื่องการปนเปื้อนของโลหะหนักในแม่น้ำของเรา และเยาวชนร่วมกันเขียนจดหมายถึงท่านผู้นำของสหประชาชาติ ประเทศจีน อเมริกา และประเทศออสเตรเลีย เป็นการส่งความห่วงใยต่อแม่น้ำของเราให้สากลโลกได้รับรู้ เป็นจดหมายห้าฉบับแรกจากเยาวชนลุ่มน้ำโขง
