Story One summer day, strange and mysterious supernatural phenomena begin appearing all across Japan, causing a nationwide stir. Amid this, the Nohara family decides to travel back to Akita Prefecture to visit Hiroshi’s hometown. While they are preparing for the trip, someone secretly watches Shinnosuke — who is carefree as ever, playing pretend “yokai games” — from the shadows in the garden… Excited for their long-awaited homecoming and a fireworks festival, the Nohara family spends a peaceful time at Grandpa Ginnosuke’s house. However, the morning after arriving in Akita, an inexplicable incident occurs! Their entire room is suddenly filled with flyers for a place called “Obake-shon Village” (Ghost-Vacation Village). Seeing the words “All-you-can-eat Chocobi!” printed on them, Shinnosuke gets wildly excited, and the whole family agrees to visit the village. But as they travel deeper into the mountains, far from civilization, while watching the changing scenery of Akita… they end up wandering into a strange and mysterious world.
