Al-Baqarah, also spelled as Al-Bakarah, is the second and longest chapter of the Quran. It consists of 286 verses which begin with the "muqatta'at" letters alif, lām, and mīm. The Verse of Loan, the Throne Verse, and the last 2 verses, Treasures of the Throne are in this chapter. Why was Surah Al-Baqarah revealed? They had turned Allah’s religion into a hereditary legacy passed down through the lineage of the Children of Israel. Therefore, after the Prophet (PBUH) arrived in Madinah, Allah commanded him to invite the Jews back to the true religion.
