A song with lyrics written by Ted Fröhlich. Think of it as rules for life.
It comes from a January 4, 1990, rehearsal of the Kiel, West Germany, punk band Sergeant Slaughter, held in the basement machine shop of a youth center. Recorded on a primitive 1989 Sony Walkman (portable cassette player) using its built-in microphones.
This version was remastered in July, 2025. The result is still far from perfect, but considering the quality of the source recording, it's a great improvement. You can hear the unremastered version of this song here: https://youtu.be/Ek7Tui8M1EI
Nils Tietgen (guitar and vocals), Scott Sadowsky (bass), Ted Fröhlich † (drums).

You can download a ZIP file with four of the booklets the band produced from https://www.sadowsky.cl/files/Sergeant-Slaughter/Sergeant-Slaughter-Booklets.zip. These contain lyrics, photographs, drawing, quotes and other things, and were distributed at gigs and elsewhere.

LYRICS:
Never be a soldier killing in a war.
Never be a copper fulfilling a government's law.
Never be a rapist stealing women's pride.
Never be a racist taking coloured lives.
Never be an opportunist hanging your flag in the wind.
Never be a chauvinist dragging others down.
Never be an animal oppressing all the kids.
Never be a teacher making the unknowing blind.
