In this presentation, delivered at the 2025 Sustainability Global Leaders Conference & Inaugural Green Industry and Sustainable Consumption Expo (Shanghai), I discuss the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and governance — and how these domains will define the next decade of sustainable digital transformation.
I explore the emergence of AI operating systems, the changing AI threat landscape, and the need for robust governance frameworks that balance innovation with accountability and transparency. The talk also reflects on the cultural and philosophical roots of AI — from the myth of Talos and the Golem to modern AI-generated entities — illustrating how humanity continues to project its aspirations and fears onto intelligent machines.
This presentation builds on my research at the University of Oxford, where I study the convergence of AI, cybersecurity, and sustainable systems.
