When our sect chose spirit beasts, I, naturally lazy, picked the pretty bird, thinking it would fly me around for fun. My sister, focused solely on cultivation, chose the grey cat with the strongest spiritual essence. Unexpectedly, that grey cat just sunbathed and slept all day, refusing to move when my ambitious sister called it, much to her frustration. But I envied her greatly because I had originally planned to just completely lie flat, yet I never expected the bird I chose to be the ancient mythical beast, Xuan Niao (Black Bird).
