Father was framed and died in prison, but Mother didn't collect his body. Instead, she turned over all family possessions and went to Qing Mountain Temple, a thousand miles away, to practice Buddhism. The Zhou family suffered, and we three sisters had nowhere to turn for help. We set out in the heavy snow to find Mother, but were caught by a troop of cavalry on the way. I fell to the ground, my body gradually losing warmth, while my elder sister silently endured the cavalry's abuse.
