I Lived with an Indigenous Family in the Remote Amazon Jungle

Indian traveller in the Amazon jungle — this is the story of a remote Colombian village where there is no alcohol, no signal, and only 8 hours of light a day. I took a boat from Leticia — the tri-border town where Colombia, Peru and Brazil meet — and crossed to the Colombian side to reach Macedonia, a small community of around 1,200 people on the Amazon river. I lived with a local family for a few days, ate piranha, fished for my own lunch, walked into the jungle alone (and got lost), visited a traditional indigenous healer, found a Starlink router in the middle of the rainforest, and spent time with the Tikuna tribe, who are fighting to bring their own language back. And if you're watching from India — wait till you see the tapioca plantation in the Amazon.
