There was a time when leaving home did not mean leaving it behind.
A man could walk for miles looking for work, follow the railroad to another town, cross the cotton fields beneath a burning Mississippi sun, and still carry home with him in every step.
He might leave with an old coat on his shoulders, a letter folded inside his pocket, and nothing more than a few dollars in his hand. But somewhere along the road, he would hear a familiar train whistle, remember the river, remember a Saturday night on the porch, remember the people waiting behind that old screen door.
And sooner or later, the road would turn him around.
This collection tells one of those stories.
A story about leaving because life demands it, and returning because love gives you a reason to come home.
These are songs about dusty roads, cotton fields, old clothes, riverbanks, Saturday nights, letters never sent, and the people who make a poor man feel richer than anyone in town.
Raw Mississippi Delta Blues from another time, when a guitar, a harmonica and a wooden porch were enough to tell the whole story.
If you've ever left somewhere you loved, or spent your life finding your way back, these Blues are for you.

Some roads take you away.
Some roads bring you home.
And sometimes, the distance between the two is where the Blues begins.
