# WALKIN’ WITH JOSEPH — FEEL THE LIGHT | Disco-Funk Catholic Anthem “Walkin’ with Joseph, feel the light, Walkin’ with Joseph through the night!” This disco-funk Catholic anthem celebrates the Camino of St Joseph in Sydney, an overnight pilgrimage of prayer, sacrifice, brotherhood and faith. In the early hours of Saturday, 22 August, more than 1,500 men walked through the streets of inner Sydney behind a statue of Saint Joseph. While Friday-night Sydney was filled with neon lights, nightlife and noise, a different sound moved through the sleeping city: the Rosary, footsteps and prayer. The pilgrimage began at St Patrick’s Church, Church Hill, where the men gathered for Mass and Confession before setting out. The journey covered more than 20 kilometres and passed through seven historic churches: ⛪ St Patrick’s, Church Hill ⛪ St Brendan’s, Annandale ⛪ St Joseph’s, Camperdown ⛪ St Benedict’s, Broadway ⛪ St Peter’s, Surry Hills ⛪ St Canice’s, Elizabeth Bay ⛪ St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney Fathers, sons, grandfathers, teenagers, teachers and tradies walked shoulder to shoulder. Every man carried an intention. For the sick. For his family. For his wife and children. For conversion. For the courage to become a better husband and father. For the desire to become the man God is calling him to be. At the heart of the pilgrimage was Saint Joseph, earthly protector of the Holy Family and a model of humility, strength, fatherhood, sacrifice and faithful service. The Camino also revealed a deeper hunger among men for brotherhood and purpose. Men who arrived as strangers became brothers as they prayed, walked and encouraged one another through the night. As dawn approached, the towers of St Mary’s Cathedral appeared above College Street. The statue of Saint Joseph was carried into the cathedral, followed by the pilgrims for Holy Mass and the Eucharist. The journey moved from darkness into light.
