UK Law-Making System — In Short ⚖️ 1. Bill introduced → A proposed law is introduced in Parliament. 2. House of Commons → The Bill is debated, examined and voted on. 3. House of Lords → The Bill is reviewed, debated and may be amended. 4. Both Houses agree → The final wording must be approved. 5. Royal Assent → The Monarch formally approves the Bill. 6. Act of Parliament → It becomes law and can come into force immediately or on a specified date.
