In this video, I play through the entire Sonic The Fighters arcade game from 1996 and complete the full story mode all the way to the ending and credits. Developed by Sega AM2, the legendary team behind Virtua Fighter, Sonic The Fighters was one of the very first 3D Sonic games ever made. Released in arcades on Sega Model 2 hardware in 1996, the game used technology derived from Fighting Vipers and featured Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Espio, Fang, Bean, Bark and more in fast-paced one-on-one battles. The game's story revolves around a tournament to decide who will collect the Chaos Emeralds and stop Dr. Eggman before the Death Egg II can be launched. Known as "Sonic Championship" on some western arcade cabinets, this unique fighting game remains one of the most overlooked entries in Sonic history and was originally released only in arcades before later appearing in collections and digital re-releases.
