Minister O.J. Janeesh will flag off this year's Pulikali at 4:00 PM in a ceremony held in front of the Bini Tourist Home. This time, over 400 tigers from nine distinct regions (desams) are arriving at the Swaraj Round to mesmerize spectators. Accompanied by traditional rhythm ensembles and vibrant tableaux, the tigers will take over the city. The Devaswom will award an attractive cash prize and trophy to the best Pulikali team. With the city coming entirely under the spell of the tigers and enthusiasts, a local holiday has been declared for Thrissur taluk this afternoon in view of the Pulikali festivities.
