Nepal Flood Disaster 2026: 165 Dead, 826 Missing | Rescue Operations Continue

Nepal is facing a devastating flash flood disaster following a major flood and debris flow near the Nepal–Tibet border. As of August 27, 2026, authorities have reported at least 165 deaths and 826 people missing. Villages, roads, bridges and other infrastructure have been severely damaged, while hundreds of people—including tourists and security personnel—remain unaccounted for. Rescue teams, security forces and helicopters are continuing search-and-rescue and relief operations in the affected areas. The disaster has caused widespread destruction across parts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and other downstream districts. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy.
