Nyx & Érèbe (in English Erebus) are the primordial deities of the night, as in the calm night that follows day and the ''turbulent night'' as in the darkness of the underworld. In this song the two are illustrated, as a part of the longer story of the birth of the world, the cosmogony according to ancient Greek mythology.
Across cultures, countless narratives describe the origins of existence. Ancient Greek mythology offers a profoundly human-centered universe in which the primordial elements: Chaos, Night, Day, Earth, and others, are not abstract forces but beings with human qualities. They think, feel, and act as we do.
In the suite-album "Cosmogonie" the compositions are in dialogue with one another and, while each stands alone as a singular piece, they achieve their fullest meaning as part of a single, extended musical journey designed for immersion rather than distraction.
