After a long pause Blazin’ Quartet is releasing a new album! Srdjan’s odyssey begins in Sarajevo, from which in 1992, due to an unhealthy surrounding, he moves to a much happier (at the time) Athens, Greece. After many instruments, bands, bars, weddings, parties (and some awards and festivals also), graduating in the meantime from Conservatorium van Amsterdam and Utrecht, he’s moved his base to Paris, where next to a few other projects he’s leading BQ into a new era. An era of an album with a long (french) name: La mer, la terre, la pierre, l’oiseau Release March 19th for fan presale and May 18th for digital and shops! Lineup: Andreas Polyzogopoulos - trumpet Christophe Panzani - tenor saxophone / bass clarinet / effects Mihail Ivanov - double bass Srdjan Ivanovic - drums, some synths and electronics Also on the album: Federico Casagrande - guitar Marc Buronfosse - fender VI bass, double bass Jovana Krstevska - voice Timothée Robert - bass From Downbeat: “The clever postmodern antics of the young Blazin’ Quartet were noteworthy; featuring Serbian limber drummer Srdjan Ivanovic, they twist and tweak conventions, as might be expected from a band whose new album is called Jalkan Bazz”
