Sergeant Slaughter (04): "Up to date means down tomorrow" [REMASTERED]

0 Ditonton16 jam yang lalu

[TURN ON THE CAPTIONS TO SEE THE LYRICS!] A song with lyrics by Ted Fröhlich about the absurdity of following fashions and trends. It comes from a January 4, 1990, rehearsal of the Kiel, West Germany, punk band Sergeant Slaughter, held in the basement machine shop of a youth center. Recorded on a primitive 1989 Sony Walkman (portable cassette player) using its built-in microphones. This version was remastered in July, 2025. The result is still far from perfect, but considering the quality of the source recording, it's a great improvement. Nils Tietgen (guitar and vocals), Scott Sadowsky (bass), Ted Fröhlich † (drums). Lyrics Copyright (c) 1990 by Ted Fröhlich. Music Copyright (c) 1990 by Nils Tietgen, Scott Sadowsky and Ted Fröhlich. You can download a ZIP file with four of the booklets the band produced from https://www.sadowsky.cl/files/Sergeant-Slaughter/Sergeant-Slaughter-Booklets.zip. These contain lyrics, photographs, drawing, quotes and other things, and were distributed at gigs and elsewhere. At least as of several years ago, Nils could be found at https://www.youtube.com/@schallundrauchmusic _____ LYRICS: To be "in" means conformity, being an individual gets you out. Up to date means down tomorrow, so rip this fashion dictate apart! To be "in" means conformity, being an individual gets you out. Up to date means down tomorrow, so rip this fashion dictate apart! You can barely hide your greed, you buy clothes you don't need. Up to date means down tomorrow, so rip this fashion dictate apart! The perfect sales manager is a social danger because he knows all about what makes you tick. You swim on each fashion wave, you look just like all your friends. Why do you sell your creativity, who put you up to this stupidity? Wear this! Wear that! You have to look so smart! Important is just the surface - rip this fashion dictate apart!
