The chapter begins with the Eunjang principal giving a long-winded speech to the students before class. Bored by the speech, Teddy Jin decides to take out his frustration on a boy from his class on the way to homeroom. After drawing Elvis-style sideburns on the boy's face with a permanent marker, he notices Gray Yeon in the hallway and gives the marker to the boy. Teddy orders the boy to draw a massive X on Gray's back, threatening him with "a trip to the incinerator" if he refuses and punching him in the face when he stalls.
Terrified of Teddy, the boy reluctantly draws on Gray's back. Gray is understandably furious, not only with Teddy (whom he deduces to be the one responsible) but with the boy himself: the boy claims that he had no choice, which makes Gray recall a time where other students said the same thing. Gray initially walks away without a word, but when the boy continues trying to defend himself, Gray turns around and rebukes him for his cowardice.
Alex Go is absent from Class 1-8 in light of the attack from Jimmy Bae the day before. Ben Park is concerned about Alex, especially with the latter ignoring his texts. He asks another boy in the class: the classmate, having been asked by Alex not to tell Ben about the incident, reluctantly provides an evasive answer.
Meanwhile, Teddy Jin beats up a student who earned Phillip Kim's ire in the bathroom, before stepping aside to let Phillip step in himself. Unbeknownst to them, Gray watches them from the window.
