When I was eleven years old, my father became obsessed with polo and made me learn it at the Vancouver Polo Club. I like polo but I prefer show jumping. Polo and fox hunting are my father's favorite horse activities. Polo has a long history in China. Ancient texts reveal that the polo-obsessed Emperor Xizong of the Tang Dynasty promoted a man to the rank of general because of his skills on the polo fields. Polo was wildly popular during the Tang dynasty for both women and men.
