"Dancing Through the Millennia" is a Chinese dance cultural variety show produced by bilibili and Henan Provincial TV. The show intends to bring the essence of China's 5,000-year history to life in front of audiences through the art of dance. The show breaks tradition as it makes the loss of the Twelve Divine Dances manuscript the basis of its story. Appointing five leading dancers, Qiao Zhenyu, Zhang Xiaolong, Hu Yang, Hua Xiaoyi and Xu Minghao (The8), it assigns then to recommend performances to restore the manuscript. Five dancers, also the five referees, will time travel to explore the most representative dances throughout history, role-playing their way through a series of plots set against the four dynasties.
