Created by Mexican filmmaker Nayelli Ojeda over eight years, YUGEN brings its fantasy world to life using Oaxacan clay and natural materials, blending traditional craftsmanship with the magic of stop-motion animation.
The story follows a ceramic girl who must protect her sick sister with an ancient fire, setting out on a journey tied to the mythical Trees of Life.
A beautiful example of Mexican artistry and creativity!
