往生咒 Wangsheng Zhou | Mantra for Rebirth in the Pure Land

Rebirth in Pure Land Mantra (往生淨土神咒), full name 拔一切業障根本得生淨土陀羅尼 ("The Dhāraṇī for Uprooting All Karmic Obstructions to Attain Rebirth in the Pure Land"), commonly called 往生咒. One of the Ten Small Mantras recited during morning and evening liturgy in Chinese Buddhist temples, translated by Guṇabhadra in the Song dynasty. Tradition holds that sincere recitation removes grave karmic obstructions and that Amitabha Buddha protects the reciter day and night. Note: this dhāraṇī complements our earlier Namo Amituofo video — one is devotional name-chanting, this is a distinct purification mantra, often chanted together in daily practice.
