Russian School Life | What School Is Actually Like in Russia

0 View6 hours ago

What is school actually like in Russia? In this video, I’m going through Russian school life as I remember it — from the first day of school and everyday classroom routines to freezing winters, school discos, military training, subbotniks, the Last Bell, summer vacation and summer camp. If you’ve ever wondered what Russian schools are like, what a day in a Russian school looks like, or how different growing up and going to school in Russia can be, this is the full story. We’ll talk about the September 1st school ceremony, indoor shoes, student duty, 45-minute lessons, school cancellations during extreme cold, OBZh and Russian school military training, “Conversations About Important Things,” cleaning school grounds, graduation traditions, village summers and Soviet-style summer camps. Some of it will probably feel completely normal. Some of it probably won’t. What was school like where you grew up? Let me know in the comments.
