Pig Feast (Pesta Babi) is a documentary about rapid deforestation in West Papua caused by large agribusiness expansion, including sugarcane plantations for bioethanol. The film shows how these projects are taking over forests that Indigenous communities depend on for their daily lives.
It also highlights the role of the military in supporting and securing these projects. Through testimonies from Indigenous Papuans, the documentary shows how many reject the development on their customary lands and want to continue living with intact forests, clean rivers, and traditional food sources.
