A dimension with no wind, no sound, and no way out. Seven balls lying in a straight line on white salt. And a man who has never thrown a punch in his life.
He throws one this episode.
Goten arrives in Super Saiyan 4 and Vesper asks the only question that matters: how are you transformed when all seven are in the room? Goten answers in eleven words. Then the fight starts, and for a while it goes exactly the way you want it to.
For a while.
Something changes. Something gets built out of black fire, and it does not break when you hit it. And in front of it, close enough to touch, a small purple robot decides to do the bravest thing he has ever done.
He doesn't finish his sentence.
What happens next has silver-white fur, red eyes, and a five-hundred-metre hole in a mountain behind it.
Then it gets quiet again. An old man with a cane walks out of nowhere and tells the truth he's been carrying for a thousand years. A villain explains a wish that isn't stupid at all. A merchant in a Hawaiian shirt asks about his payment at the worst possible moment. And a nineteen-year-old who never wanted anything in his life finally answers the question everyone has been asking him since episode one.
He answers it in a field, out loud, in front of a dragon.
It's not the answer you're expecting. It's better.
