💦 Hengifoss, Iceland 🇮🇸 Hengifoss is located in eastern Iceland and stands about 128 meters high, making it one of the country’s tallest waterfalls. 🪨 The canyon walls are especially unusual. Thin reddish layers can be seen between the basalt, formed from ancient soils during periods when volcanic eruptions were interrupted by warmer, calmer conditions. 🥾 A hiking trail of about 2.5 km leads to the waterfall.
