Two Malayali women have been killed in California, USA, and another Malayali woman, who was their friend, is in police custody. The victims have been identified as Anjana (35), a native of Mudikkode, Mannuthy, Thrissur, and Ann Mary Mathew (40), a native of Kesavadasapuram, Thiruvananthapuram. The victims' families allege that Anila, their friend who resided in the same apartment complex, is behind the murders. Based on information provided by the relatives, the San Jose Police in the US have taken the suspect into custody and initiated an investigation.
Reports indicate that the two women were attacked in different ways. Following some professional disputes, the suspect reportedly entered Ann Mary's home and stabbed her to death. However, Anjana's relatives allege that the suspect killed her by running her over with a car. The exact motive behind targeting Anjana remains unclear. The shocking murders took place around Friday noon, US time, while the families back home in Kerala were informed on Saturday.
Ann Mary had been working as an engineer in the US for around ten years. Her husband is Jacob Pallathra from Chingavanam, Kottayam. Anjana had been working as a teacher in California for the past six years, and her husband, Vijeesh from Vilangannoor, Peechi, also works in the US.
