Seven billion dollars. That's the number in the news this week. Not into one stock. Into boxes.
An ETF is an exchange-traded fund: a shared pile of stuff with a ticket that trades on the stock market during the day. You buy a slice of the box, not the whole mine. The ticket price can wiggle versus the count of what's inside.
This week's chapter: gold and bitcoin ETFs drew about $7 billion in five US trading days (Bloomberg). That is people buying tickets to boxes. Not a wheelbarrow at a shop. Not a buy button.
Homework: what's in the box, what rent the box charges, and whether you can sleep if the pile drops.
Not financial advice. For educational and entertainment purposes only. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold anything.
