🏔️ Between enormous mountains lies Bamyan—a valley where landscapes, archaeology and centuries of cultural history come together.
In this chapter of QORVEXA, we travel into Bamyan Valley, one of Afghanistan's most famous archaeological and cultural landscapes.
Bamyan stood along a branch of the Silk Route, bringing pilgrims, merchants, artists and travelers through the valley. Buddhist art flourished among its cliffs, caves and archaeological remains.
For centuries, two monumental Buddha statues dominated the valley's famous cliff face.
Their destruction in 2001 became a powerful symbol of cultural loss, leaving the enormous niches that remain visible today.
But Bamyan is much more than those empty niches.
Across the valley are caves, fortifications, settlements and other archaeological remains that reveal layers of cultural history.

The story of Bamyan is ultimately a story of memory—how a landscape can preserve traces of civilizations long after the people and monuments that shaped it have changed.
Bamyan is not simply a valley. The landscape itself has become part of the story.
