Out nestled amongst the farmland of central Pennsylvania is one of the state's best-kept secrets. Sunbury, PA is home to the 61 PinBar, a family-owned bar and grill that also just happens to have a phenomenal lineup of modern pinball machines. If it's new and in-demand, you'll more than likely find it here. Dune? Harry Potter? King Kong? Pulp Fiction? All out and available for play over here.
61 PinBar is the brainchild of Chris and Melissa Marquette, co-owners of the game distributor CoinTaker Pinball, whose warehouse is also conveniently on-site. We visited on a Friday night after hours of driving directly into the sun along Interstate 80, and they were kind enough to show us around the facilities, as well as give us a "backstage" tour of the CoinTaker warehouse and a sneak peek at some of Chris's own personal collection. We even got to play an extremely rare new game from Dutch Pinball, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland", that's very hard to find in the States currently!
You can often meet the CoinTaker team at pinball shows up and down the East Coast, including this weekend's upcoming White Rose Gameroom Show in York, PA, so if you see them, be sure to say hi!
