The core gameplay kart racing with drifting, boosting, and item usage remained unchanged. However, several important updates affected content, presentation, and operator options:
New Characters: Two baby racers, Baby Mario and Baby Peach, were added to the roster, expanding the selection of drivers available in U.S. cabinets.
New Tracks: Two circuits carried over from the Japanese version were introduced: Pac-Man Stadium, themed after Namco’s mascot, and Namco Circuit, designed as a crossover showcase. Both were localized with English text for this release. But only for multiplayer.
New Karts: Three new vehicles were added under the “Hamburcar” design, available in three variations standard, Type S, and Type X.
The Team Battle Mode, which had previously allowed linked players to race in team-based matches, was dropped from the U.S. game entirely.
The game has also a new Ui: You can now see the race leaderboard live on the right side on the screen, you can also see now what player do you hit and what player hit with an item and a new warning text when an item is approaching you.
The update made the game fully offline-capable, added an operator Free Play setting (so arcades could run the game without coin input when desired), and applied various performance, improvements that stabilized cabinet linking and optimized in-game responsiveness.
No further characters, tracks, or seasonal content were added to the U.S. version. This revision represents the final, polished, offline-ready state of the game in North American arcades.
