Cue 08 - "Fleeing the Assailant" (Score of aborted independent Colombian film)

Cue from the score of an aborted independent Colombian film. Composed, arranged, performed, mixed and mastered by Scott Sadowsky. This is the musical cue for a childhood flashback in which the protagonist remembers being chased down by a man with the evilest of intentions. Clocking in at just 16 seconds, there's a lot to communicate musically in very little time. The feelings I wanted to get across were danger, fear, chaos and sadness. To this end, the cue is anchored by a low strings section that plays mostly long, menacing notes with sometimes odd intervals between them. The violin section plays a very high, unrelenting arpeggio to evoke fear. The chaos is provided by two things: the unstable meter of the cue itself, which alternates between 5/8 and 6/8, and the seemingly random horn stabs that follow no discernible pattern. Finally, the sadness comes from the flute and clarinet combo, which plays a slow melody. _____ Tema del score musical de una película independiente colombiana que no prosperó. Composición, arreglo, realización musical, mezclado y masterización: Scott Sadowsky Este tema acompaña un flashback de la infancia en el cual la protagonista recuerda ser perseguida por un hombre que tiene las peores de las intenciones. Con una duración de solo 16 segundos, hay mucho que comunicar musicalmente en muy poco tiempo. Los sentimientos que quería transmitir eran el peligro, el miedo, el caos y la tristeza. Para ello, la pista se basa en una sección de cuerdas graves que toca, en su mayoría, notas largas y amenazantes, con intervalos a veces extraños. La sección de violines toca un arpegio muy alto e implacable con el fin de evocar el miedo. El caos lo proporcionan dos elementos: el compás inestable de la pista, que alterna entre 5/8 y 6/8, y los aparentemente aleatorios acentos de bronces que no siguen ningún patrón discernible.
