Zoids Saga DS: Legend of Arcadia is the conclusion of the Zoids Saga series. It comprises scenes from Zoids Saga, Zoids Saga II (released in the west as Zoids: Legacy) and Zoids Saga III: Fuzors. It features upgraded graphics and sound. Additionally, Zoids and story elements from the Zoids Genesis anime have been included.
The game plays like a traditional JRPG with the player controlling characters and mechs from the Zoids titles. Enemy Zoids wander around the overworld and chase you on sight, which takes the player into the turn-based combat system. An English patch for the game done by Traceeytrace in 2022.
The gameplay is the same as Zoids Saga except that Takara Tomy used the DS split screen feature to introduce the radar system. Regina gave him a peculiar device which he wore on his left arm called Arm Retcomm, a radar watch device with map, item locator, trap, and Zoids mining system. Right now, you only have level 1 of these systems, but you will get more upgrade for the device starting from midgame.
Arcadia has an artifact hidden inside a ruin. This artifact lets anyone to travel across time and space which the Emperor plans to do. By traveling across time and space, they gather data to build a large army to conquer the world. Atory and his bodyguards must stop them but since almost every Arcadian soldier wiped out, they have to plan everything carefully from now on. Now just like the original, Blood Keel here fights you to prevent you from getting to this time traveling artifact.
Unlike the original, Blood rarely used his Geno's Charged Particle Cannon because his AI focuses on preserving EP (In the original he used the CPC more often which is why the original was more difficult than DS as there's also no EP recovery if you make your Zoid wait), doesn't mean that he's not dangerous though. Depending on your Zoid's armor, you will either receive heavy damage from any of his attack or his attack scratch your Zoid. Well...good luck on this fight, Prince
