Mursi Tribe | MOST UNIQUE PEOPLE ON EARTH

The Mursi tribe is an indigenous group primarily residing in the southwestern part of Ethiopia, in the Lower Omo Valley. Known for their distinctive cultural practices, the Mursi are famous for the lip plates worn by women, which are inserted into their lower lips as a sign of beauty and social status. The tribe is primarily pastoral, raising cattle, goats, and sheep. Mursi society is also characterized by age-set systems, rituals, and a strong warrior tradition. Their isolation in a remote area has helped preserve many of their traditional practices, despite external influences.
