This one is a bit short and a bit sad, to tell the truth. Futurecade was one of the two new arcades that opened up this past year along the Wildwood boardwalk in New Jersey (the other being the Honky Tonk Saloon's arcade in the basement of the Boardwalk Mall). Unfortunately, things never really got off the ground here. There's a classic water shooting game, some Roller Bowler which is always fun, but aside from that, there just wasn't a lot of games to really captivate the passers by. One lane of Ice Ball, two claw machines, a Mortal Kombat machine that wasn't turned on, and the weird product-of-it-time Arm Champs II. That's about it, which isn't really a whole lot to get people to spend their money, especially with Randy's retro arcade just a block away and Gateway 26 off in the opposite direction. It's a shame, too, because when we visited this past August, the owner Angelo was a very nice guy who would go out of his way to make visitors feel welcome. From what I understand, the latest word as of this month is that they weren't able to make enough money to cover the rent on this spot, and it won't be returning next season.
