Episode 4: Voices in the Wilderness, Sound of the Wilderness, Motherland (June 24, 2007) The fourth episode of the series is getting better and better. The stage is Kazakhstan in Central Asia after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and a 4,000-kilometer journey to the rich grasslands of southern Russia. The film describes the Chinese Kazakhs who abandoned everything and returned to their homeland of Kazakhstan; the Koreans who were forced to migrate long distances during the Stalin era and regarded the foreign Eurasian wasteland as their homeland; whether to return home to defend their country or to stay in a foreign land. The Chechen people are living in peace and contentment, wavering between these two painful choices. Finally, on the banks of the South Odon River, with the slogan of defending the country to the death, the Cossacks are renting back their clans to the militaristic customs of the Tsarist Empire. The elite military schools of the past are revived, and the militia volunteers are always ready to sacrifice their lives for the country... This episode takes the motherland as the theme, allowing the audience to think about what the motherland is that people dream of, and what it will be at the end of the road of patriotism. Compared with the previous ones, the style of this film has changed. Perhaps the previous format could not accommodate such solid and weighty content as this episode. It can be said to be the best in the series. 第四集 荒野中的心声 荒野に響く声 祖国へ （2007年6月24日） 　　渐入佳境的系列第四集，舞台是苏联崩溃后的中亚哈萨克斯坦，至富庶的南俄草原地带的四千公里旅途。 　　片中描写了抛弃了一切、回归故国哈萨克斯坦的中国哈萨克族；在斯大林时代被强制长途迁移、把异乡的欧亚大陆荒原视为祖国的朝鲜族；在是返乡保家卫国还是在他乡苟且安生、这两个痛苦抉择中动摇不定的车臣族。最后是南俄顿河畔，以誓死卫国为口号，正向沙皇帝国时期的军国风习返租归宗的哥萨克族，昔日的军人精英学校死灰复燃，民兵志愿军随时准备捐躯殉国..... 　　本集以祖国为主题，让观众思考，人们心目中梦寐以求的祖国，究竟是什么，而在爱国主义之路的尽头，又将会是什么。 　　本片与之前的几部比较，风格有所变化，或许之前的格式，无法容纳像本集这样坚实有分量的内容吧，可称是系列翘楚之作。
