In the window of a shop a smiling Buddha statue sits. The camera shows the sign above the shop, written in Chinese characters. The sign for a Chinese restaurant is shown next, written in both English and Chinese. Two butchers work in the window of a shop which has different birds - like duck and chicken - hanging in the window. Another group of signs with Chinese characters on are shown in the film and these are shown close up. A very old Asian man is standing next to one of the signs talking to a younger man. The same sign is shown at a different time, two young Chinese women and a Chinese man in a leather jacket stand chatting and laughing - they are wearing fashionable 1960s clothes. A white woman in a colourful 1960s dress. In black and white footage a shop front with a curtain covered in Chinese characters is shown. The camera zooms out to show people standing in front of a lot of shop fronts and signs, The street is busy, people come and go, others stand and read newspapers.
