The content of this film is a classic and grand Chinese mythological tale called "Fengshen Yanyi." The story is set in the Shang Dynasty, 3,000 years ago. During this time, the Shang King utilized a system of enfeoffment to grant land to various feudal lords for governance. He also kept the sons of these lords as hostages in the Shang palace, nurturing them as a means of leverage in case of rebellions by the feudal lords. However, the tyrannical rule of the Shang King brought suffering to the feudal states.
