This was enough for the body and the various complements to remain in the distinct stems. That's why The Nun II, as you'll remember, is a prequel to a prequel, and ends up being a fun part of the series. It retains the successful elements of The Nun and improves on what didn't work, putting its beloved main character through a series of torments and hardships only to be protected from the remaining detritus as the tree enters its tenth year, since the Conjuringverse doesn't have much of a cache left.The Nun 2 sets itself apart from the Annabelle spinoffs, each centered around a different family, and instead brings back Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) and Frenchie (Jonas Bloquet) for another round with the demon nun Valak. This decision pays off in large part, as Irene and Frenchie's wonderful chemistry and ultimate respect for each other was one of the best elements of The Nun, so placing the two characters at the center of the film greatly benefits from the foundations previously laid. But it's a bit disappointing that they were separated For most of the movie. After a series of violent deaths in Catholic churches across Europe, Sister Irene is sent to investigate. You may remember that Valak took a flight out of St. Carta's monastery while hiding in Frenchie's spirit, so try to analyze what's going on here.
