As he is about to get his hands on the deceased's guitar which sits above the coffin, the boy is projected into the world of the dead. There he discovers a colorful universe populated by friendly skeletons who party. Determined to find Ernesto, Miguel will have to act quickly because when the sun rises, he will remain a prisoner of this parallel universe if he has not been freed by a wish.
