Half Life-02, Chapter-01, Point Insertion

"Welcome to the first chapter of Half-Life 2, ‘Point Insertion’. Our journey begins with an introduction by the enigmatic G-Man, and we find ourselves on a train entering the dystopian City 17. As we step off the train and into the station, we’re immediately immersed in the oppressive atmosphere of this Combine-controlled city. We navigate through guarded gates, encountering citizens and Combine officers. A seemingly hostile officer leads us into an interrogation room, only to reveal himself as our old friend Barney Calhoun from Black Mesa. Barney and Dr. Kleiner discuss our next steps over a video screen. We then make our escape through a window, using a wooden crate to boost ourselves up. We find ourselves in an alleyway, where we get our first taste of the game’s physics as we interact with cinderblocks, bottles, and barrels. Our journey continues through the heart of City 17, past citizens receiving their rations and under a viewscreen where Wallace Breen delivers a speech on instinct. We find our way into a small alley marked by a blue milk crate and overgrown with plants. We climb up to a fire escape and hop over a fence into a playground. Here we can take a moment to play on the equipment, all functioning realistically. We then enter an apartment building where Combine officers are conducting a raid.
