What We Could Be is a light drama/romance series set in the quaint town of Santa Barbara.
It follows Cynthia (Ysabel Ortega), a hopeful young woman filled with dreams and love for the people around her. Currently working as a nurse to sustain the needs of her poor but happy family, she has not given up on her greatest dream: to rebuild their family panaderia burnt to ashes in a fire years before.
In an unfortunate event, Cynthia is suddenly laid off from her job. This leads her to take on a new gig, a homecare nurse for a grumpy old lady.
As she navigates a new job, challenges come along the way.
Confused, Cynthia finds support from her family and a stranger named Franco (Miguel Tanfelix).
As she peels Franco’s layers little by little, she falls in love with him and gives Franco chance after chance.
But as she does so, Franco shows another side that makes her question, “Does he deserve all the chances she has given him?”
As Cynthia’s faith is tested, will she remain steadfast, headstrong, and hang on to the possibility of making a relationship with Franco work?
Or will she eventually figure out that sometimes, succeeding both in love and in dreams is simply not possible?
